A Night of Jazz

I am really enjoying this being blogger thing. Although this is only my second blog -- as a writer I feel as though I have been doing this forever. Maybe people will read and maybe not. But hopefully, this will bring the light to someone's life.

Last night was one of the most amazing nights. You know lately I find myself taking some time out to enjoy the most simple things in life. If more people took time away from their busy lives then simplicity would mean much more.

I went to the hottest "Speak-easy" in my city, a small spot called FUEL. It was actually selected as one of the best Exotic Coffee and Tea houses in Florida! I was able to order a cup of imported Chinese Jasmine Tea and just chill. Little did I know that I was in for a treat. It was also a night for a concert with the Mike Clark Organ Trio. For those who don't know, Mike Clark is the drummer for Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. And for a true jazz lover -- it was the hotness!

Just those few moments at Fuel have reconfirmed my commitment that living in a place like Jacksonville is not all together bad. The cost of living is low, there is not a state income tax and if you search for it -- culture is there. I often contemplate moving permanently to Los Angeles or Chicago or New York and then I think would I be able to live there like I live here. After contemplation, I've decided traveling back and forth is fine with me.

While sitting there last night, I was truly inspired and have began several poems that I hope to share with you in the coming days. So be on the look out.

Until then . . .

Light and Peace!
